At the completion of the Wallenberg laboratory at the Malmö University Hospital (the University of Lund) in 1994, our moved inteo a molecular biology laboratory on its third floor. The laboratory collaborates with the hospital's endocrinology department and its metabolic research unit. Professor Leif Groop is the head of both departments.
The Wallenberg-laboratory is responsible for the genetic part of the Botnia Study. Approximately 50 persons work in the laboratory and about 12 of them are working on their PhD thesis. Most of them work with the Botnia Study
